⁵² Now everyone was crying and wailing for her. But Jesus^[a] said, “Stop crying! She’s not dead. She’s sleeping.” ⁵³ They laughed and laughed at him, because they knew she was dead. ⁵⁴ But he took her hand and called out, “Young lady, get up!”
